Week 35: Road Trip

Happy Wednesday everybody! And happy 8 months to Sister Willis! I still feel like I left last week, haha. Time flies when you're having fun!

Yesterday we had our mission leadership council in Lethbridge, which meant we got to take a big ROAD TRIP! Lethbridge is 2ish hours away from Medicine Hat, so we left at 7:30, made it there at 9:30, had a big long meeting, and drove back. Our elders wanted to get food on the way back so we stopped at this little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant run by Mennonites in this little town called Taber. The food was fine but their ice cream machine AND soda machine weren't working. It was worse than McDonald's.

We saw MIRACLES this week! On Thursday we had lots of time in the afternoon to find new people to teach and we felt really strongly that there was SOMEONE in our area who needed the message of the gospel but we had no idea where they were! We drove to like, 4 or 5 different places to try stopping by formers and knocking on doors and nobody was answering or interested! It finally got to the time when we had to head to dinner, so we decided to stop by two former investigators on the way over. Neither of them were home and we were about to drive away when we saw this cute mom putting a carseat in her car and Sister Bueno was like "what if it's her!" So we ran out of our car and introduced ourselves and set up a time to come back and teach her! It was her!

On Sunday night we had an appointment fall through, so we had even MORE finding time and it was so cold and snowy and we were trying so hard to find somebody new! After like, an hour we met this guy named Adam who told us we could come back next week but he didn't seem super solid and we were like, we know that there are people in our area who are ready to be taught! So we were looking at our area map and I felt like we should go to this one street and at the very same time Sister Bueno remembered the name of this potential investigator who lived on the street that I had pointed out! So we were like, we HAVE to go! We went to see Brawnwin and she seemed super interested, we gave her a Book of Mormon and we're supposed to go back next week! It was awesome! We have so much faith in miracles!

On another note, we went to go visit one of our investigators on Friday night and she invited her whole family into the room and we were like, this is awesome! But as soon as the husband got downstairs he was like "are you guys Mormons?" and we were like "yeah?" He said that he told the Mormon missionaries that they weren't interested because they said he'd need to get baptized again. This family is from South Sudan and double baptism is apparently a HUGE no-go. He said we could stay and visit but that we couldn't talk about the church. Which would have been entirely pointless, so we left. Not their time, I guess.

We have gotten interrupted by phone calls and people coming to our door like EVERY time we've tried to study or plan this week, and on Friday afternoon we had our companionship study and we heard the doorbell. We were super confused because we weren't expecting anybody, but it was this worldvision guy trying to get us to sponsor a child in Africa. We kind of sympathized with him because door-knocking isn't always super fun, but we were like, listen, bro, we actually have no money. He tried to tell us it would only be $40 a month and that me and my friend could split it and we were like no, ACTUALLY, we have NO MONEY. We pay to be here knocking on people's doors. So we don't have enough money to sign up for a monthly donation. He was pretty shocked that we'd be willing to knock on people's doors for free, so we tried to give him our card (he actually lives in my first area up in Calgary) and he was like, now y'all are trying to convert me! Stop it! That was a fun time.

On Monday we had our district council meeting and all of the missionaries like to park their cars perpendicular to the actual parking spots, parallel to the sidewalk because that means we can just drive out without backing (every time you reverse your companion has to direct you, lol). Anyway, we were sitting in our meeting and this grumpy old lady came in and was like "MISSIONARIES! Who taught you how to park? There are TWO CARS parked incorrectly in the parking lot and you're making it very difficult for my sewing club to carry our machines! You're not the only ones who use this building!" And then she made the other district leave their room so they could do their sewing club. Getting screamed at was definitely one of the highlights of my week.

Alma 37:17 says "For he will fulfill all his promises which he shall make unto you, for he has fulfilled his promises which he has made unto our fathers." I have found so much peace in trusting God and His promises. I know that because He loves us, He will make all things work together for our good!

I love you! Have a great week!

Week 34: Medicine Hat!

I made it to Medicine Hat! The coolest-sounding place in the Canada Calgary mission! And I'm loving it already. I got transferred down here on Thursday which was a WHOLE process and I totally fell asleep in the van that the assistants were driving the two hours down to Lethbridge. It was awesome. And then all of the missionaries leaving Calgary met their new companions in Lethbridge and we drove two MORE hours east to Medicine Hat. And I've been here ever since!

We've had a GREAT week so far down here! On Saturday we were out tracting and we kept feeling like we maybe weren't exactly where we needed to be, so we were praying and looking at our map and trying to figure out where to go. We finally made it to this one street that we felt pretty good about and went to stop by a former, but she wasn't home, so we went tracting down her street and right when we finished we were walking by her house and her light turned on! So we knocked on her door and she took a Book of Mormon and said she'd love to learn more and come to church! It was awesome and we knew that we needed to be on all of those other streets so that we could be there when Jodi got home.

We had a pass-off lesson with this cute ladies from Honduras in our area and one of our elders who speaks Spanish, so we sat there for an hour and a half and didn't understand anything that was going on, haha. It was super awesome because we could feel the Spirit testifying of truth even though we couldn't understand the words that were being said. And this cute old grandma, Laura, is so prepared to receive the gospel! She's been reading the Book of Mormon and says she doesn't believe that Joseph Smith could have written something like that without being inspired by God. She's awesome!

On Sunday night we had a lesson with this lady Lana who lives in the trailer park. We were supposed to meet her at 7:30 but we decided to go see this cute little girl Quinn first and ask if we could teach her more about the gospel (we went back to see her yesterday and she's so awesome! We talked about the restoration and the Book of Mormon and she said the sweetest prayer and told us she's going to invite her friends from the trailer park to our next lesson. She's such a baller!). Anyway, we ended up being 15 minutes late to our lesson with Lana and we knocked and rang the doorbell and nobody answered so we tried calling her and she didn't pick up but we got a call back from a private number and it was her. She was repeating something over and over and she's kind of hard to understand, but we figured out that she was saying "don't come anymore" and our stomachs SANK. I looked at Sister Bueno and I was like "we've got to get out of here" and we BOOKED it to our car and out of the trailer park. We didn't feel normal again until we made it to the church to set up appointments. It was the worst feeling I've had on my mission.

I had an awesome first Sunday in Medicine Hat! The elders quorum president in my last area's parents live in this ward in Medicine Hat, so I'd actually met them before I got here, and their grandkids were at church on Sunday! It was funny because I had dinner with them LAST Sunday. So I got lots of hugs from their little girls. And we found out that the family we had dinner with this week knows some people from my home ward! It's a small small world.

Alma 26:12 says "Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." I love Ammon, especially as a missionary, because he's such a good example of conversion and hard work and love for the people he teaches. And he understands his purpose as a missionary and a disciple of Christ.

Have a great week and keep on keepin' on! Talk to you next time!

Love,
Sister Willis

Week 33: Banished

Hello everyone! The big news of this week is that I'm getting TRANSFERRED!! I'm going out to Medicine Hat, Alberta tomorrow, which is a little city southeast of Calgary, and Sister Lamontagne is staying here in Auburn Bay and McKenzie and getting two new companions! My new companion's name is Sister Bueno, and she's a baller. I'm super pumped. All of the missionaries love Medicine Hat!

My last week in this area was crazy and fast! I was still pretty sick last week, so we tried to do some missionary work but on Friday we stayed home and slept and watched 2 silly church movies and some members brought us Subway through our sliding glass door so that I could be all healed to do lots of good missionary work on Saturday! We stopped by loads of people and had some great gospel conversations and ate LOTS of Chinese food for dinner (ginger beef is one of the perks of being in Canada!). On Sunday, we had our usual lots of church and meetings and we did some super good door-knocking. We had an awesome dinner and telestrations lesson with this cute family in our ward and we were so excited about teaching the gospel and wanted so badly to find somebody to teach that we spent a whole extra hour trying to find someone who was interested in learning the gospel with no luck, haha. But good things come to those that wait! On Monday we texted one of our friends who we've been trying to meet with for a long time and told her about transfers and she told us she could meet with us! So we met her at Tim Horton's yesterday and set up a time to teach her more about the gospel. It's so exciting. And yesterday we were knocking on doors and somehow not a single person is home, but we felt prompted to go to a different street and the first guy we talked to told us that we could teach him while he was puttering around in his garage, so we talked about the Book of Mormon and the need for priesthood authority and the restoration of the gospel! It was awesome and he told us that he's going to check out the Book of Mormon that we gave him and see how he feels about it. He's elect, he just doesn't know it yet!

On Saturday we had a lesson with Naomi and it was so much fun! We talked about Lehi's dream and had her draw it out on a whiteboard and talked about why it's so important to do things that keep us holding on to the iron rod. She's a great little artist and scripture reader and was so sad when she found out one of us might be getting transferred. I'm gonna miss her but she's gonna do great!

Alma 5:26 says "And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?" I think this question is so important because Alma is asking it to people who have already found God and experienced His love in their lives, but as I've grown up I've found that it's so important to be continually assessing your relationship with Him and repenting and changing so that we can sing the song of redeeming love! Being a missionary has taught me how centered the gospel of Jesus Christ is on the idea of repentance. I'm so grateful for the ability to change and grow. I love the hope of the gospel and I love sharing it with other people!

I love you all! Have a great week! I'll write you next week from Medicine Hat!

Pictures! Of the district and my friend Naomi and the big Auburn Bay chair. I'm gonna miss it!

Week 32: Flu Season 2

Hello friends and family! I am officially sick AGAIN! This makes me super fun to hang out with and means I have been doing a lot of sleeping and walking around with tissues stuffed in my nose. Super cute!

Last weekend we got to go on exchanges! So our STL Sister Barrow, who's serving up in north Calgary, came down to our area and my companion went up north with her companion. We had a blast teaching a nine-year-old girl about the plan of salvation using Candyland, an eleven-year-old girl about the gospel of Jesus Christ by making her jump around her house, and a nine-year-old boy how to play the piano! And his family said they'd come to church next week! So that's pretty awesome.

We had dinner with one of our friends in our ward on Saturday night and she always buys us SO much food, so for four of us she got a 12-piece bucket of chicken from KFC, a LOT of French fries, and a whole birthday cake. I tried eating a normal amount of food but she kept checking to see how much was left and saying "Sister Willis! You're not going to leave me with all of this food!" So I ate, like, 5 pieces of KFC and 2 HUGE pieces of cake. The next day was fast Sunday and I wasn't even a little bit hungry until 3 pm. I was honestly terrified.

Speaking of birthday cake, we went over to a part-member family's house to do Come, Follow Me with them and when we walked in they were lighting candles in an angel's food cake for their deceased grandmother's birthday. So we got to sing happy birthday to Janice! That was a personal first.

The rest of the week was pretty uneventful. We did the standard missionary activities of sorting shirts for an old folks' home and cleaning this lady's house and knocking on doors and stopping by one lady who was VERY unimpressed that we were at her door. We love it!

Sister Lamontagne was sick before I was sick (coincidence? I think not!), so I read her the Book of Mormon on Sunday afternoon and we wore matching dresses on Monday to district council. #compunity! Shoutout to Old Navy! This week we read 2 Nephi 2:25 -- "Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy." We were talking to our friend Naomi this week about what brings us joy and she said naps, going to church, missionaries, and Heavenly Father, which are all GREAT answers. I'm so grateful for the gospel because it teaches us about the purpose of our life and helps us find peace. There's no better message to share!

Shoutout to the Chiefs for their super bowl dub! Have a great week everybody! Stay healthy!

Love,
Sister Willis

Week 31: Exposed

Last Sunday I had to give a talk in church and the ward bulletin specialist printed my FIRST NAME in the bulletin! There are already Willises in that ward, so everyone was SUPER confused about who Abbigail was. And now they all know that my first name isn't Sister. What a shame. I feel like people are discovering my secret identity.

We were going back to see that part-member family we tracted into last week, and so we texted the mom to make sure it was okay if we still came over and she texted back and said "no thanks." So that was kind of an L, haha. But we did the Good Missionary Thing and baked cookies and brought them over! The kids were SO excited that one of them hugged us. So they know the door is always open.

P-day activity in a giant hamster ball.
This week was SUPER BALLER because we FOUND people! On Friday we went to stop by this guy who told us to come back but he wasn't home, so instead we knocked on the doors across from his house and this Filipino guy named Alvin let us in to share our message! Our area is relatively wealthy and so that NEVER, EVER happens to us. It hasn't happened in MONTHS! And so poor Sister Willis didn't know what to do and we just read the introduction of the Book of Mormon with him and he told us we could come back! Booyah! We're gonna pass him right off to the Tagalog elders. And then yesterday our big afternoon plans fell through, so we were stopping by someone who was previously taught to see if he'd ever be interested in being taught again, and he ALSO wasn't home (which seems to be a pattern with everyone we want to visit), but I'm working on harassing lovingly approaching every single person we see on the street, so we saw this guy walking home and walking up to his door and just before he went into his house I like, YELLED at him from the sidewalk and he came and talked to us! His name is Philemon and I gave him the Book of Mormon and he said we could come back next week! It was super baller. AND our members brought people to church! We are LIVING it UP in McKenzie and Auburn Bay.

Missionaries are always doing their best to be Super Prepared for miracles, so yesterday we were online proselyting (waving at random people on Facebook and asking them if they want to learn more about Jesus, totally normal) and we saw these two girls walking outside the church, and we were like, OH my gosh. We HAVE to go talk to them. So we ran to the other side of the church and went out the opposite doors so that we'd "run into" them and we did and we asked them if they'd been to our church and it turned out they were from Shanghai and are going back today, lol. We were like "oh!! Okay, well, nice to meet you!" We were BUSTING up because were SO ready to start teaching these people from China. It was a good afternoon.

If there's one thing I've learned about misssionary work, it's that it's all about serving from your strengths! So a couple weeks ago at English class, this mom was like, "my son wants to learn to play the piano" and I, a fool, was like "WE can teach him how to play piano!!" So we snatched a piano book from a lady in our ward who plays piano and now Sister Willis is a piano teacher! I was SO stressed but it actually went really well, haha! We taught him all about notes and fingers and he was a great little student :)

Words of Mormon (not an oft-quoted book of scripture) 1:7 says, "And I do this for a wise purpose; for thus it whispereth me, according to the workings of the Spirit of the Lord which is in me. And now, I do not know all things; but the Lord knoweth all things which are to come; wherefore, he worketh in me to do according to his will." I have found a lot of peace in trusting that God is wiser than I am and a lot of joy in being an instrument in His hands. We're having a GREAT, freezing time out here!

This week was 7 MONTHS!! Crazy how time flies when you're having fun!

Have a great week,
Sister Willis ๐ŸŒผ

Week 30: I get kissed by a boy

We teach ESL on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and last night this 20-something year old guy who's super jacked and likes winking at people decided to say goodbye by giving everyone a kiss on the cheek, because "that's how they do it in Mexico." So. That was awesome! And a tad bit unexpected.

The biggest news from this week is that we got a NEW WHIP! We traded in our 2017 Toyota RAV4 for a 2020 Nissan Rogue! Fresh off the lot, baby! With 18 kilometers ๐Ÿ˜Ž. We are LOVING that remote start life.

We're trying to do better about being Spirit-led in our finding efforts because it tends to be SUPER difficult to find people to teach in our area, which mostly means driving to a street, praying, deciding it's not the right street, and repeating that 4-6 times or until we get it right. It's SUPER frustrating after about prayer number 3, but on Monday afternoon we were going through this process and we FINALLY got to a street we felt good about, so we started knocking doors and the first guy we talked to was like "we're not interested, but could you move your car? my wife is coming from costco and she's got a bad shoulder and she's gonna have to carry all the groceries in from the car." So that was super awesome. #miracle!! Our actual miracles on that street were meeting this black guy who was on the phone but told us we could come back on the weekend (#elect!) and accidentally tracted into this part-member family with these cute kids who we have not seen or been able to contact FOREVER! I had no idea that they lived on that street and so I was standing on the doorstep STUNNED and asked them how they were doing and if we could come back this week and they said YES! So we're gonna go hang out with them tomorrow! I'm super excited. I guess God knows that I'm too wimpy to go talk to them on my own, haha.
My favorite part of living in Calgary is that we get chinooks that raise the temperature from -30 to -5 in one day. I don't love that the pressure and temperature change gives me a MASSIVE headache and makes me feel like I'm going to die through all of church. Sometimes you just need to take a chinook nap! But sometimes you don't have time for that, so you just drink diet pepsi and try to power through it!

We volunteer at the retirement home in our neighborhood most weeks, and yesterday we got to sit in on the exercise class! It was mostly doing the "live long and prosper" sign from Star Trek to help your brain (which I CANNOT do with my left hand. it was super embarrassing.) and standing on one foot to practice balance and rocking from your toes onto your heels. We were like, wow, that was NOT an exercise class, and then our calves were sore at dinner. So maybe it was more my speed, haha.

At our dinner on Sunday night, these members of our ward had us go on the BYU relative finder and figure out everyone we're related to. Your girl is related to 37/44 US presidents and 17/17 latter-day saint prophets! Booyah! And some people who came over on the Mayflower, which I actually did NOT know. So that's kinda awesome!

1 Nephi 10:19 says "For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come; wherefore, the course of the Lord is one eternal round." Don't forget to seek that personal revelation! Especially in preparation for general conference!

Love you! Talk to you next week!
Sister Willis

Week 29: Baby it's COLD outside!

Frozen faces!
It's so cold!! It's so so cold! I am colder than I have ever been in my entire life! Before windchill, it's -33 degrees Celsius. Which is almost -30 degrees Fahrenheit. Which is. So so cold. It's so cold that there's ice on the INSIDE of our bedroom window. It's so cold that when we drive into our parking garage at night, the windows fog up from the temperature difference and then immediately the condensation FREEZES on the -30 degree window. It's so cold that all of the members tell us that we should NOT be tracting because if you walk more than a block or are outside for more than 10 minutes you will start to get frostbite. And I don't want frostbite! So we don't go tracting.

The last time we went tracting was on Sunday afternoon, because some elders in our district wanted to help us to find more people to teach in our area and they decided that -25 was the PERFECT temperature for tracting. We did not talk to anyone who was interested in our message, but everyone we talked to was very concerned about us being outside. It was Sunday, so I was wearing a dress, but I was wearing a shirt AND a sweater under my dress, thermal tights, leggings, socks, a scarf, gloves, and a hat (toque. as they say in Calgary). And we had handwarmers and we were STILL cold. Super awesome! I love it! Some guy opened the door and we asked him if he'd be interested in learning more about the Book of Mormon, and he was like "Well, I am interested in Jesus Christ...and, I'm interested in the Bible...and I'm familiar with Mormonism...but no. I don't think I'd be interested in pursuing that." I was like, okay, that's fine, but could you PLEASE just SLAM the door like everyone else instead of making us stand outside in the freezing cold? He was NOT elect. But it turned out okay because the elders ran into this lady who had been taught previously on their way to see someone else and she said she'd just been looking at her Book of Mormon right before she saw them! So we're going to go teach her on Thursday. It's also SO fun because every SINGLE person we meet tells us to "stay warm!" I don't think they understand that the place to stay warm is inside the house? But they never invite us in. So I guess they're not THAT concerned about us staying warm. smh.
We had zone conference yesterday, which is a big long missionary meeting, and our car doesn't have remote start, and driving out of that parking lot in that cold car was actually the coldest I think I've ever been. It was awful. I put my hands on my legs under my dress to keep them warm. It barely worked. I never, ever want to be that cold again.

We've had kind of a hard time finding people to teach because we live in kind of an, um, ~affluent area~? And we really feel like good things are coming in our area, so we decided to go HARD on Thursday and Friday to find people to teach before it got cold. We stopped by everyone we could think of and tried to be super Spirit-led in our tracting and be positive and expect miracles, and we found... NO ONE! Which was not awesome for us. But we had some fun times! Like Sister Lamontagne literally almost falling backwards off some guy's step when he opened the door (I was seriously holding her up while she had one foot on the stoop, haha) and me WHACKING my head on a potted plant hanging from the portico of the very next house! Not our finest moment.

We started teaching a little girl who lives in our district but outside of our area whose mom only wants sisters and not elders. The girl's name is Naomi and her friend Katerina from upstairs was over, and we asked Naomi if she had any questions about what we talked about (praying and reading the Book of Mormon) and this girl Katerina raised her hand and was like "I can name ALL of the Star Wars characters!" Which was not only not a question but also not related at ALL to what we were talking about. She kept asking us whether we're all going to have to go to Mars when the oxygen runs out, and I had to tell her that she can ONLY ask us questions about God because we only know about God and not about anything else. We were teaching Naomi how to pray and Katerina was like, we never pray in my house! And we were all like, you can pray if you want to! And she was like "Why would I want to talk to God? My life is GOOD! I don't need God! You guys need to get God out of your head for ONE MINUTE and think about something else!" It was SO funny. I felt like I was talking to an angsty YSA or a 60-year-old man. Guess it starts young!

1 Nephi 9:6 says "But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words. And thus it is. Amen." One thing that I'm learning and working on is trusting that the Lord really is preparing ways to accomplish the things that He wants to get done because He loves His children! God's plan and God's timing tend to be WAY better than mine, haha. He is the best person to trust!

I love you all! Have a great MLK day (not a thing in Canada) and STAY WARM!
๐Ÿ’Ÿ❄๐Ÿ’ŸSister Willis๐Ÿ’Ÿ❄๐Ÿ’Ÿ

Week 28: "Are you nuns??"

Fueling our ever increasing Diet Coke addiction. (Even though today is diet pepsi, lame.)
Sister Lamontagne and I were doing service at the retirement community in our neighborhood yesterday, and all of the residents ... struggle to hear? So they talk about us very loudly and think that we can't hear! Anyway, one lady came over to us and was like, "are you girls nuns? My friend was wondering!" So we told her that we're missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and this other lady was like, oh! I was baptized as a Mormon! So we talked to her about it for a little bit and she came back over a few minutes later and she was like, actually, I think that you girls are probably from the REFORMED Church of Jesus Christ, because Mormons don't dress how you're dressed. So we had to explain that we only wear jumpers because we're missionaries and NOT because we're RLDS. It was lots of fun.

We had a MAJOR #missionaryfail and forgot our dinner calendar two weeks in a row, so we didn't have dinner appointments on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, OR Saturday last week. That meant a couple of things. First, that we ate through almost all of the food we bought on p-day in, like, three days. Second, that Sister Lamontagne and I played a LOT of dice. We printed out Yahtzee boards on the church computers and just... wasted away our dinner breaks rolling dice. I get a lot of full houses and yahtzees in twos!

Homemade cookies!
On Thursday, we practiced our favorite finding and reactivating technique, called baking cookies and giving them out to people! We dropped them off to our friend David, who has not responded to our texts in TWO MONTHS, and now apparently has a French roommate? Anyway, the French roommate opened the door and could speak very little English, but did tell us that we're beautiful, so that was a win. And David texted us! Finally! Cookies soften the heart! ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ’

We went on companion exchanges with our sister training leaders this week, so I got to go up to the northeast of Calgary with Sister Barrow! I love her and we had a blast, and when we were at dinner the woman who was feeding us asked me if I'd say the prayer and I was like, yes, of course, and after she was like "that was beautiful! I think missions are really good at teaching you kids how to pray." Which is only relevant because her husband got there partway through dinner and so he asked me to say the closing prayer after we shared our lesson, and we were all like ... okay?? And the wife was like, "she said the prayer on dinner!" And he was like, "oh, it's okay, she needs practice!" So I got to pray TWICE! And then in the car on the way down to our meeting with the stake president, we got a phone call from the assistants to the president and I had NO idea what was going on but THEY asked me to pray! Lots of prayers for Sister Willis!

We started teaching ESL this week, and it was SO fun! There were so many people there and I was working with this girl named Camila who already speaks pretty good English but she kept teasing me for not speaking Spanish. It was cute and we had a good time!

Kraft Dinner! Which is Canadian mac & cheese.
I think that's about all from up here! I am SUPER excited to do Come, Follow Me for the Book of Mormon! One of my favorite scriptures from this week is super obscure and rarely quoted so I thought I'd share it with you :). Nephi says "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." (1 Nephi 3:7). I love Nephi's example of faith and trust in God! He knew that God had asked him to get the plates from Laban and he didn't doubt that God would provide a way, even after they had failed over and over again! One day when I grow up, I want to have as much faith as Nephi :)

Have a great week! Don't forget to do your Come, Follow Me!

Love,
Sister Willis
